Unironically why don't we just make people on death row drink hemlock? It obviously worked and was painless. It would put an end to the debate regarding lethal injection.

You don't deserve a brain.

The Bible prescribes stoning, not hemlock. That's why. A bullet to the head or chest would be the cleanest modern parallel; It's essentially a very small, very fast stone.

I really don't understand the deal with lethal injection. We are not that hard to kill, especially with poison, so why did they pick the least effective stuff to do it with?
In truth, hanging remains the best way. The worst thing that can happen with that is that your head can get ripped off and you die immediately.

Because the people in charge of our societies are retarded, and even when they're not retarded they still have to pander to retards.

Corruption. Some people make a lot of money selling (and using) the chemicals for those executions. I also suspect that there's some sadism involved too.

is dying slowly of asphyxiation. Literally among the worst ways to go.

this is the real reason
if it was about anything other than money they’d do a firing squad or hanging like in Ohio
hell a NO2 chamber would work fine and be painless and cheap

The point was for you to suffer, why hanging replaced crucifixion

Hemlock poisoning causes an extremely slow and agonizing death, actually.

Invent inmortality then, until we will try to not live ten years of gout

Hemlock can have adverse reactions but realistically we spent most of the twentieth century either determined to end execution or find some humane way to do it. There is no humane or just way to take a person's life, some people still need to die though, I think firing squad is probably the quickest way to go and it reminds us that we are still killing.

Cause death by drinking is gay. I mean it beats butt injections, yet regardless I'd rather die by hanging if I could choose.
>It's painful anon!
Yes but is it gay?
