I think her theory begs the question why an innate biological category and a perverse fetish appear to be converging. The answer is she has no larger framework for her ideas and is essentially a sophist, trying to loot the crumbling ruins of a social science for which she has rightfully little respect. The fundamental assumptions of modern sexuality are outdated, such as biological difference; there's no biological difference between a gay body and a straight body, even if you quiblle about the brain. It's nothing like people once thought, and theory needs to be ripped up far beyond what Butler did.
