How did slavs come into being? Do we know some details about their ethnogenesis?
I saw a theory that claimed that ancient slavs were a combination of Baltics, east Germanics and Sarmatians. Is it true?
>>17868225 (OP)They were a mix between Scythians, Baltic and Finnic peoples.
>>17868230>Finnic peoplesReally? I thought that only the later eastern slavs mixed with finnic peoples. Interesting
>>17868240All Slavs have Finnic dna, mostly from the female line but you’re thinking of Russians conquering and mixing with the Permic and Ugric peoples, that while are related to the Finnic peoples, are most east Asian
>>17868253Okay that's interesting. I didn't know that. Were those finnic tribes the ancestors of estonians?
Ultimately there is probably a much or more Norse cultural and genetic influence compared to East Germanics. Both very little.
I think there is a core bronze age Slavic people, using arsenic bronze along the forests who were a bit more advanced in terms of material culture than their East Baltic contemporaries.

>>17868225 (OP)East Germanics were already clustering with Slavs. Slavs are a result of the Chernyakiv culture which was a mix of Goths, Sarmatians and Dacians.
>>17868230Finno-ugrics have no role in slavic ethnogenesis. They do, however, play a major role in russian ethnogenesis.

Is it true? That's cope from slavic posters on GA because they can't accept they're just balts with some southern admixture. Primarily polish posters for some reason. The fact that slavs are not autochthonous to Poland and the land was primarily inhabited by germanics prior to middle ages has completely shattered their fragile ego and nationalistic delusions.
