While you are correct in what you say about the media pushing an unnatural beauty standard that glorifies women who look like inmates at Auschwitz. I think you both miss the issue that the Venus of Willendorf is an abstraction. Its features are given more or less focus depending on their relative importance. Like how people are attracted to anime characters but in real life wouldn't actually be attracted to a woman whose eyes were so large they took up 70% of her head. It has a large belly because men naturally want a women with some meat on their bones and so that aspect is emphasized to demonstrate the women is attractive and fertile, she's not meant to actually be 500 pounds.

Maybe 1 in every 10,000 people would actually achieve that girth as a nomadic hunter gatherer, it's not like they had anything other than their two feet to move with at this point in human history and they lived during a time of global cooling.
