Yes, unironically. I've always said this - English is a Germanic core with French words, and Modern English is all of that but a Gaelic man wrote it

>English language is a creole French language
It's a Germanic language that has some French vocabulary. You could take out all the French words and have a working English language. You could not take out the Germanic words and have anything but a vocabulary list.

...and how many English loanwords from French come from Norman French, which is quite different from Ile-de-France French.

French itself is a creole of ancient Germanic and latin. And the normans themselves were mutts who traced their heritage and pride from northern pirates.

Not how that works. There isn't an infinite pool of native genes to "dillute" the newcomers. The dna was homogenized and stabilized. Today, Norman french people have sizable germanic dna. How much of it is frankish or viking? Hard to tell. Either way, the normans themselves were proud of their origins and saw themselves as distinct from the other french. A superior martial peoples compared to the serfs in the south.

They spent over 150 years in normandy before embarking on the conquest. That's 5-7 generations mixing with the local population

>English language is a creole French language.
Having a lot of loanwords is not the same thing as being a creole. If English is a creole of anything it's English and Norse, since Norse actually had a noticeable impact on the grammatical structure.

What are you talking about? English spelling is descended from that of Middle English, which is based on that of French. If English spelling were based on Gaelic spelling then English-speakers would have some idea how to pronounce Gaelic names.

Nordcucks boasting about "conquering" Normandy is akin to a dalit boasting about doing jobs nobody else wants to do

England was one of the wealthiest and prosperous regions of Western Europe at the time.

You don't know what you're talking about.
>100 Years war was a conflixt between colonial elites using colonial troops against the metropolis.
Even by the reign of King John many elites outside of the Barons did not know French. It was in fact even a problem to the still Francophile super-elite. English identity had already emerged even amongst most of that elite anyway, and by the end of Henry III's reign much of the political community was actively anti-French and popularly called for laws against all non-English from serving in any capacity as an official or advisor

Yep
I'm a bong and I don't know why other bongs are so proud of our country.
I think many of them believe the ridiculous lie that the Normans slowly assimilated after conquering us and dispossessing 99% of our elite class.

It's honestly shameful to be an Anglo-Saxon descended bong.
