Some people claim Vikings were uncultured snownigger savages but they founded and ruled a lot of kingdoms, duchies, or political entities all across Europe
How does that even work?
Were they actually smarter and more "political" than we think?
>Kievan Rus' โ Russia, Ukraine, Belarus

Selection effect. The ones who went out to conquer and settle instead of just looting a bunch of shit and sailing home were the most talented and managed to break or remake existing systems with their aggressiveness.
Nordics are awesome although not without their flaws. They overemphasise liberty and subjectivity just a little bit too much. Their lack of attachment to a unified imperium or even just to any body of doctrines and superstructures is probably the main reason why Europe ended up atomised and why the remains of its social order are currently disintegrating. But in terms of individual ability, dignity, and courage, they are top class. The Nordic element is one of the best ones in Europe and possibly the world, but life here is hard - they still need a lot of education and diligence in order to prosper and grow long term.
In Spain they just sacked Galicia, Cรณrdoba and Asturias, murdered a Basque king and did set fire to Oviedo... how is that supposed to be enlightened...

>Although there are various opinions regarding their origin, it is generally accepted that the siglas, also known as marcas, are of Scandinavian origin. Given the geographical distance, historical Viking incursions along the Portuguese coast, and pagan rituals practiced by people from this particular fishing region, it is believed that there is a partial Norse ancestry and cultural legacy.
>>17871303>imperiumAnybody who unironically values imperium is a gormless bowtie-wearing chinless dweeb, in spirit if not in body.
>>17871310Because they never settled there?
They just got raided by Nordic pirates
>>17871310What race and religion were the victims?
>>17871269 (OP)>Kingdom of Man and the Isles โ Isle of Man & Hebrides>>Kingdom of the Isles โ ScotlandAll they did is impose feudalism which collapsed in the Western Isles after 300 years and remained in the Northern Isles to this day of course
A Viking settlement doesn't mean a viking kingdom. And you're hard pressed to name a "viking" kingdom outside scandinavia, maybe normandy or england, with attributes still associated with scandinavia, like german tongue or norse paganism. Go ahead and show me a source that attributes this features to eg russia. Inb4 some "viking" arrowheads and a hairbrush from ladoga made in friesia next to dinars are proof of anything except that rivers were medieval highways
>>17871269 (OP)The Normans never controlled this much land in North Africa. They only held on to the cities in the western Tunisian cost and Tripoli.
