Therefore the industrial revolution was well underway in Britain before Britain had any significant influence on India.

India's GDP estimates are based on population and consumption, not economic surplus, if a peasant grows rice then eats it they contribute to GDP, India had 23% of world GDP because it consisted of around 23% of the world's population. It does not prove India was undergoing an industrial revolution at this time.

Further it is debatable if the British attempted to "deindustrialize" India, quite the opposte they wanted to maximize profit in the colonies and showcase progress to bolster its image. Under the Raj the British tried to promote investment in India and did not make any effort to stop Indian industrialists like Jamsetji Tata, who founded Tata industries in 1868. The problem was India's environment and technology of the time meant these industries could never take off across the whole country and were limited to major coastal cities.
