>What are the consequences for society
None. Just don't be poor. That's literally all there is to it no matter who you are or which time and place you live in.

That's like 10% of the society. What about the rest?

Yeah. What do you think rich people do? They don't spend time around the poor. They get their underlings to go out and deal with them.

Why are they pushing the underlings so hard? They don't even have time to create a single thought in their brains. Just clickety click with a mouse without really understanding what they are doing. Busy bees.

Go watch, "Terminator."
If more people paid attention we would not have developed this technology.
Simple as.

The prospect of short term gains is too much. Especially since tech is only speeding up the movement of wealth and assets. They would really much rather inflate your savings to zero while they gobble up all the land, gas/coal/oil reserves, and waterways.

Based Terminator enjoyer. Although I'm of the unpopular opinion that it should never have gotten more than one sequel, if any at all. It was a perfectly good horror film but James Hackmeron decided to sell it to Hollywood and turn it into a generic action film with a billion explosions.

it is not about the technology, it is how we are forced to use it. this AI when being used by a sub 100IQ refugee will deny position for a citizen, while everything will be going to shit.

the government employs large quantities of nincompoops who use AI to appear sentient while denying your claims and nobody can explain what is happening and why

Which guys fuck poor whores all the time. They also love just walking around and seeing them work in some roundabout way to get their kicks.

These gigantic models are already untraceable. They are functions with millions of parameters, designed to get data centers busy and prop the hardware business. But nobody knows how a particular decission is made. Unlike expert systems in the 1980s, which were small and totally traceable since they were built out of rules.
