>>812276This, and I believe it's still just as true now as it was back then. Joined 2019 so excuse my newfaggotry, but ever since this site's inception, OC content, no matter how big or small, played a big part of the site's early identity that feels almost completely gone now with current day 4chan. There was a point in time when 4chan used to be one of the greats when it came to OC creation along with the likes of Something Awful and YTMND. Back then, people would make stuff with the main intent of having fun and for others to have fun too and laugh along, even if what was made or done can come of as spiteful or hateful, it was almost always something that people can laugh together at and not take so seriously. Some early /b/ raids like the Habbo hotel one are a good example of this, as the absurdity of afro men making swastikas and closing the pool due to aids in a virtual video game, can really only be seen as funny and something that people can get along too by participating and laughing at it together. Nowadays, people's only intent with raid's are usually to just shit-stur and cause as much rage as possible by all means necessary, removing a lot of what made things like that fun. To me, on Oekaki specifically, these little shitpost drawings that take no more than 10 minutes like
>>812281 here that are meant to be done for fun and are made by people who like this board enough to use it, don't really feel much different in nature to pic related from over 20 years ago, that being photoshops done in less than 10 minutes because someone thought it was funny and wanted others to have a laugh at the thing they both enjoyed, shitposts on 4chan. It sucks that nowadays when people on 4chan here hear something along the lines of "fucking around and have fun on 4chan," it's so closely accosted with "shitting up a thread with off topic spam, derailment, bait, shilling, etc." because that's all they know and have been introduced to in current day 4chan.
