I don't see this as often these days - what I usually see is women using their avatars to imply they're sexually crazy, and throwing too much private stuff out there.

i like that they’re all so individual you get a pretty soulful glimpse at what they feel like as themselves, and kinda what’s important to them, not just a stylized version of how they’d look walking around.
that’s a pretty cool thing to be able to see, really. but either way, all self interpretations are really fun to look at, whatever the heck direction the artist wants to whimsically go.

I dont usually draw men (ok maybe shota). If I had to represent myself it would probably just be the generic bald anon either with glasses hiding the eyes or plain eyeless.

I've only really seen this with how japs depict Chinese, they usually just draw Koreans indistinguishable from Japanese and use that for "secret korean" nonsense drama.
And as for Koreans depicting the other Asian ethnicities... I don't think I've seen a single legitimate discrepancy in how'd they draw one Asian over another in south Korean works yet.
The chinamen either draw characters as pale skinned beauties or brownish toned gag characters and that's just applied to everyone regardless of race, I assume it's a classism thing where the rich are pale cause they can afford to sit inside all day and the working class end up tanned from well working/spending time outside.
In short Japanese are the most racist, Chinese are the most classist, and Korea...

There's also Sarah's Scribbles, by Sarah Anderson (I believe), which is an alright gag comic, in that 'haha, so relatable' kind of way.
