It's insanely hard to find good references, since a lot of them are behind a museum firewall, buried deep within some forgotten forum or just outright banned from being posted in the clearweb (axis bad and whatnot).
Personally, I just use War Thunder models and check to see if there are any good photos taken in tank museums around the world. The russian one is pretty good when it comes to WWII eastern front and post-war soviet vehicles. Outside of that, I guess you could try searching for actual schematics.
