>>7605414>IndustriesWhoop, my bad, I meant companies rather than industries. I'll leave what I was typing out initially before I reread your post and realised my mistake, just in case you're curious about that.
But if we're talking industries, just translating manga alone is probably a multi-million endeavor, as well as that tat for that stuff; and if we look at children's comics and regular comics separately, which the industry often does, that again is two multi-million dollar industries; again, if we talk merch, the merch for comic properties (outside of movies) is probably in the millions as well - even before the marvel movies became big, comic merch and figurines were are booming industry (I'm sure a lot of that is licensing, but that still lifts up, or perhaps is even the main support, of an industry).
I'm sure there's others, but I'll leave it there.

A lot of Scholastic's work is comics, and are a big part of the market; Penguin Random House; Fantagraphics; boom studios; Oni Studios (I believe they've been bought up by a company buying up many smaller comic studios, but that just benefits my point); I already said the manga industry in the English speaking world, because yes, those are comics, don't be a retard and try to claim otherwise; and while they're tanking themselves and hopefully die soon - Marvel and DC are still dealing in the millions (though probably more so in losses).
So there are plenty of companies that are dealing in the millions (and most, successfully), which I think proves the point that it's a successful market.
