Has there ever been an instance of an amateur webcomic starting with /beg/ tier art and ending up with illustrations on par with high tier internet smut artists (Think Eigaka, GoldenSmurf, Speedoru, CSR, Wamu, etc.)?

Art style shift/evolution is a known thing in long running series. If you care enough about comics to work on them consistently, over an extended period, chances are you'll refine & learn new things in the process (unless your doing it wrong). Pic related, parallel dementia evolved artistically during its first run on the 00s then went on a long hiatus, while the creator worked on other projects. Then got rebooted about a decade later. perhaps not god-tier improvement but noticeable update.

Holy shit the artwork is perfect aside from the flat as fuck face, even for anime standards.
