I don't know what to do with the other arm so I chopped it off. Anyone else does this? How do you figure out the pose you want for your character?

the el classiko elbow up, hand behind her head to hide your beg hands or have her trace something on the ground with her finger? how i come up with poses is that i have some storytelling so that automatically dictates the pose

I can easily figure out many ways to put the arm. But it's better if you're not putting your characters together like Frankenstein.

I hate this feeling so here's some advice that I can't seem to follow myself.

Who is the character?
What's her personality?
What is she doing?
What is the goal of the picture?

Is she nervous? Maybe this pose is accidental, and she wants to cover herself up.
Is she seductive? She might be beckoning the viewer closer, or emphasizing her body.
Is she holding something? It could range from her drinking a beer to playing chess.

Is the goal to excite the viewer? Or make the viewer think she's a klutz?

Once you have an idea, you might end up redrawing the pose, revising it to better suit your more clear idea.

There are lots of options as to what to do with the other arm.
Make it so she's scratching her butt, that's a creative one. Or make her grab her own glute.
Put her hand on the back of her head to expose some armpit.
Hand on her hip, it's not a "natural" pose but it won't raise many eyebrows in a pinup.
Raise the arm and do the V-shaped fingers.
Put her hand near her face, pointing a finger at the face, that's supposed to be cutesy.
Do the zoomer/gen alpha classic "L fingers under chin".
