>>7608179Oh fuck off. You and everyone else knows what 'one of the best' means, stop trying to intellectualise your way out of it.
If I said "He's one of the fastest", you wouldn't say "Oh, that means he is the fastest now, but not in the past or future", you would know that he is among the most fast people, thus being "one of the fastest".
Likewise, to say 'He's one of the best', doesn't mean he is the best in a ranking of time, it means he is part of a group of people who could be argued to be the best.
Honestly, even discussing this far is giving you too much time, effort, and credit. Like I said, you know this, and I don't know why you're trying to change the meaning of an old phrase.
Even searching the phrase gives this result:
>"'One of the best' means that the person or thing being described is among the highest in quality or excellence within a particular group or category. It implies that there are other good or excellent individuals or items, but the specific one is among the top-ranked ones. "Which I didn't need to do, because you and I both know what it actually meant. Please don't go around bullshitting like that - I can't believe people would actually lie on the internet.
Oh, and finally, I'm not OP, and don't know why you assume I am.
