I only watched their painting videos, and it was hit or miss depending on the tutor for the prerecorded lesson. I often found the course boring and felt that the big setup was just for the show.
As for the very basics, I could learn more quickly from anatomy books.
This is just one course, but you'll need other learning materials (from random sources) later. Why spend so much on a subscription, unless it's marginally better than anything else out there.

Use to really like them but now I've soured on them.

They keep jacking their prices. It use to be $10 a month, $20 if you wanted access to everything. Now it's $25* for the first month for the cheapest plan, then you pay $49 a month after.

They switched to a new website that is god-awful to navigate. I don't know why they did this because the old website worked fine. But now you can't even find half the courses.

Another big fuck-you is that they're pushing the live-streaming sessions, which means if you are on the library plan you don't have access to half the content they're advertising.

It's pretty good. I bought a lifetime sub for 2k years ago when it was offered. Lectures can be hit or miss depending on the instructor. Vilppu is wonderful of course, I also like Huston, Gnass, Borenstein and Bustos a lot. None are perfect.

Their animation content is really poor unfortunately. I mean I literally think the native-looking guy, who honestly seems like a fuckin' wholesome dude, may nonetheless be drunk and there's zero editing so it's an extremely cringe-inducing, awkward experience and I can't help but feel sorry for all parties involved (including-if not especially-the viewer).

The worst part about it I'd say is it kind of feels hard to navigate. It's an extremely aesthetic site but the organization seems to be kind of slapdash. However, to be fair it's improved quite a bit in that regard in recent years.

The 3D models are decent, but I do think you can get really good stuff from sketchfab for free.
