I want to give up on art but I keep coming back hoping to get rich. I don't enjoy my time anymore. What should I do?

You should draw because it's fun. Drawing is literally the best hobby you can have. You can do it anywhere you want and have unlimited freedom in it. It's not like videogames where you just play the dreams of some other people, with drawing you actually create your own dreams. It's difficult and tedious but also very rewarding.

Simple, do not do art for the money. Do it because you love it do it because it draws you in. The pros of commissions and working on some project as an artist are there, yes. But that's not easy to achieve and you will disappoint you time and time again. It's similar to being a teacher. You do not go into teaching for the money. You do this because you love it

there are people who get very successful doing this stuff, but they are in 1% luck and skill. Like people doing stuff for blizzard and shit. I have worked professionally but I would like to be paid better. All in all I do it because I love it and can spend hours upon hours working on an piece. I would love it to be my job but that is only happening if I become better than today. I thing you are getting things wrong with that mindset OP. It will only frustrate you.

I have always have thought about that. I have tried learning coding but at this point I think I'm just going to hire a freelancer to do the stuff for me. I used to do small stuff with friends but they all pivoted to financial stuff. That shit is boring and soul crushing.
