Honestly?... Probably twitter, which is pretty grim.

mostly luck based, so you should probably post it on every platform so that you have more chances that the algorithm can pick it up

I meant it more in the sense of having a platform that's good for posting multiple images (pages) that works well for a comic reader

I would guess start with places to where you think people would even be interested in reading your comic
Posting it exclusively on webcomic spaces isn’t really putting your comic in front of people who you think your market could be

Nowhere, really, unless you want to do scrollers for tapas or webtoons or have enough of an audience to do patreon independently.
Tumblr can be alright for hosting if it’s not r18 and you’re mostly doing inoffensive slice of life, but other than that you’re probably better off getting your own website over the alternatives (assuming you dont speak Japanese well enough to use xfolio or pixiv).
Finished one shot pdfs can go on itch.io or gumroad or whatever though.

Oh, if we're talking solely about uploading batches of images in a way optimised for reading comics... There is Cubari.moe, which is a simple no thrills site made for reading comics.
Actually, I suppose mangadex would be good as well, as they allow for people to upload their comics, though I'm not sure how they would react to someone uploading something that isn't particularly 'manga-like', if you're comic is more western.
Also, I haven't used this site in ages, but was flickr quite good for comics as well?

Of course Cubari and flickr aren't going to have communities and people naturally stumbling upon you like with twitter, but if we're talking purely images and reading experience, they're probably the best.

How easy is it to set up? Friend is working on a webcomic and doesn't know much HTML but there seems to be some good features for those who want to host.
