I am able to keep a consistent painting schedule thanks to 40mg Elvanse in the morning and 20mg in the afternoon (diagnosed ADHD and suspicion of ASD)
My psychiatrist has cautioned me that I might loose my spark. But that hasn't happened, I'm happy and relaxed. It has helped me so far that I was selected in a competition and was able to organize my second exhibition.
Biggest problem with the meds is that I can get wired. This happens when I slept too little or haven't eaten enough

Pills don't give skills. What it has helped me with was keeping a consistent schedule, patience and having the bigger picture in mind. That in turns obviously improved my skill.

But if you're not medicating and just want to try it out. Go for it maybe it helps. Just keep in mind that the dopamine also boosts your confidence and thus you feel like you accomplished more than you actually did.

What actually helps is sleeping enough, eating health and some exersice. I know how boring that sounds, it is what it is.

Besides technical skill, what helped me improve the most is having a rich personal life.

Good luck out there

Sure, my executive functions are now below average instead of nearly non-existent. Still, it took me 2 years of therapy to adapt my coping mechanisms and develop new strategies. It's like when your favourite weapon/character/spell got a buff in a new patch, you still need to adapt your gameplay

Another way would be to muster up the courage and curiosity and see what life is about. It might bitch-slap you into the shadow realm. And it probably will do exactly that. Doesn't matter Inspiration is inspiration
A lot of the "get a gf and you'll be happy" is post-fact rationalization (and wishfull thinking) that confuses cause and effect

I always believe stimulants can increase rote repetition and endurance tasks but will not increase creativity and improvement.
