You can literally draw whatever part you want however you want. Same with any sort of reference. You're making excuses to not draw.

Why do you care so much about what schizos say or do? Do you have no confidence in yourself? All I get from your post is that a bunch of online weirdos browbeat you into "computer bad, I have to say computer baddd!" and you decided to just accept it, even though you're posting in a place infamous for people just disregarding rules and norms.

There is no stopping beginners from making mistakes. The terabytes of photographic reference available online hasn't stopped them from this. The entire world of real, tangible references hasn't either. It is better to draw "things that are wrong" than to make up endless excuses to not draw anything at all.

If all you're going to do is copy then what's the point anyway? At least with AI you can get a pseudo-photo that you can tweak to be as close as you wish to a reference - but then again, what's the point?

Copying a photo will at least give you a greater understanding of the human face or body, or whatever subject. AI images are full of little mistakes, that you may not even notice, that will pollute your understanding.
Notice how her nostril comes down into the line of her upper lip cleft, and then subtly turns and forms her lip.
An artists may come to think this is something some subjects have, or even that this is common at certain angles of the face - thus polluting their knowledge of the subject.
There's also her shirt (as I noted), the bikes handle bars, her hand on the handle bars, etc.

I'm not so anti ai as to say there is no use in ai images or that they can't be used as a reference, but why put an ai image up as a /dtiys/ thread when the board is so vehemently against ai? Why choose an image that's going to be so divisive regardless of that? And why should we choose an image that's got no passion behind it?

I'm not arguing that your knowledge of the real world should come from image generators, much like you would be silly to learn about anatomical proportions from manga. Even if you used genuine photo references, you'd constantly be running into blown out values, lens distortions and JPEG artifacts. But you don't need every part of an image to be perfect to be useful. You can use images as conveniences to be there along the way. If whatever you're doing requires careful study of minute details of reality, you're better off working from life anyway, and if you need to conceptualize them, there's already Loomis and others to give you templates for how things "should look". But hardly anyone here even cares about drawing things to that level of realism. (and yes, some people's mouths genuinely look weird and crooked)
I can't say why someone would use an AI image, perhaps they are trolling, as you say. I don't know if /ic/ has ever reached a consensus about anything - if I were to go off just not very recent past, I'd have to say that /ic/ is simultaneously vehemently against construction and also vehemently against observation and also vehemently against coomers and also vehemently for "making it" through targeting coomers. It always came across as arguing for the sake of arguing, and trolls obviously feed off of that. To me ultimately the question boils down to will to be creative over the appeal of arguing online. People get hung up on "technique", but the litmus test is whether you have the skill of coming up with a way to convey what you want through an image, not whatever method, 3D program, drawing tablet, reference photo or image generator.
