Is there a fucking way to make money and success through art without becoming a Twitter artist and making connections on that hellhole? I'm introverted ad fuck and I'd rather make it through my skills alone but in the west it seem inevitable outside of working in the dying animation/comics industries for pennies.
Alternatively, should I just learn japanese?

Hard to say if animation is actually dying. The industry over hired because of covid, and contracted heavily, it's much the same with the video game industry. Studios are also closing, such as cartoon network, but that's more so because of stupid business decisions.
So it doesn't change much, since it wouldn't be really good to try to get into animation now, but the industry isn't going anywhere.

This one just makes me think you don't read comics. Yes, superhero comics allegedly suck now, and they're dying - but again, this appears to be entirely because of some of the most unbelievably bad business decisions, and squandered opportunities, that any company has ever made. Marvel and DC are both fucking laughing stocks of companies, but comics themselves is still doing well - with the caveat that Diamond publishing has shuttered it's doors which is going to cause massive disruptions in the industry (again, funnily enough, caused in large part because of covid).
However, more independent publications, that aren't a part of the diamond publishing fiasco (such as random house), have been doing fine, and have continued to do fine even with the massive fumbles of the caped retards & co.
However, given that you don't seem to know any of this, it's likely you don't care for comics, so why even pretend to care about the industry or feign indignation at the notion that you can't work in it?

me too, most of my interaction on twitter basically consist of like and retweeting arts that I like, and strangers follow me back for some reasons. My twitter account was created mainly for friends that I've already made from 4chan so they can find a repository of my art. What kind of success you want to achieve really depends on what specifically you want to do to that end, but if it requires some sort of exposure, it helps that you at least "show up".

Become a mangaka -> move to japan -> learn japanese
Landing the job comes first, then when you know the job sticks (ie your book sells) then you consider moving there, and while you're there you try to pick up what you can.

He doesn't know that even Japs have huge networks, both in the manga industry thru mangaka & his assistants and in the anime industry thru twitter and even discord, even light and visual novel illustrators need connections to get gigs, most doujin circles have more than one person too so OP you should learn social skills instead of Japanese.
