I do feel discovering realism, after almost 20 years of ignoring it, has been the biggest mental shift I've had in all my years of drawing and painting from anime.

It's like when bruce lee realized that all the eastern traditions are nothing more than BS when compared to western fighting traditions.

And I don't mean I never understood that I needed to learn realism, but I had the mistaken assumption that realism was nothing more than a slower version of photography.

And while It is a slower version of photography, is not just a mere xerox copy of nature.

Nah, during an hour or so of boredom (yes I should have been drawing shut up) I payed attention a few weeks ago. Some fuckhead was spam-bumping crap threads, including but not exclusively the cris ones, with low effort replies. This was shuffling threads like slower generals to the bottom, then multiple new threads made with dogshit OPs to get both the autosaging threads AND the reasonable ones off the board.

It's either someone trying to actively troll the board, playing wannabe jannie, or an addict who can't help but post here yet wants things he posted in to die.

Anime animators say this over and over but you need to know basic Japanese to know about it.
