No. That's simply the excuse to tear it down.
This is one of those structures built for the same purpose in the same time. It is still standing today because it wasn't purposely demolished.

There is a living area just a mile from me that has this exact same style of gimmick in the front just for the gate alone and when you drive into the place it's nothing but a white oasis of well kept lawns and trees and happy white people free to run as they please.
