>>7617980 (OP)>Why are beginner artists who use internet fame and money as a motivation to draw considered delusional and NGMI by a few people on this board? It's like someone using the idea of becoming a famous rockstar as their main motivator to learn an instrument.
The chances of that happening are so slim, and unrealistic, that people are just giving them a dose of reality - after all, are you going to stick with things when they get hard, or if you don't seem to be becoming famous?
"Making it" is already a difficult and somewhat unlikely thing, but making it your primary goal and getting into drawing moreso for that end goal rather than the joy of drawing and creation, likely means you'll likely just end up disappointed.
Not to mention, you could see the person as something of a poser - they don't actually care about drawing techniques or care about art particularly, but are there for the supposed benefits of it.
Finally, artists are well known for their poverty, they're known as 'starving artists' after all - so for all the things your tried to make it big from, you chose fucking art? How brain dead can you fucking be?
Just have fun drawing, maybe you'll make it, maybe not... but so long as you have fun along the way, nothing was wasted.
