You have to activly put less detail in to draw a cute girls even a realistic one, otherwise they will look old and ugly. Its sometimes hard to tell what to include and what not. The rendering has to be gentle too. Drawing wrinkly bearded old men is a begtrap only good for impressing non artists.

Howie states he "always wanted to pet a dog". The woman offers to let him pet their dog. Howie informs her that he doesn't know how. Without explaining anything, she says "you just do it". This tells Howie literally nothing, as he has already informed her that he does not know how to pet the dog. The woman is incapable of any empathy towards those without her level of knowledge and takes for granted her own privilege. She has no knowledge of Howie's life, clearly if he doesn't know something as simple as petting a dog, he has some issues. She recognizes this fact, but rather than have any sympathy, she is utterly insensitive; immediately accusing an already distraught Howie of "being retarded".

Instead of thinking critically, with compassion and simply telling him "open your hand as if you were waving, then run your open hand down the dog's back", he would know exactly what to do. Her idea of "helping him" is to forcefully grab his hand and drag it across the dog. At this point, Howie still does not know what he is supposed to do. He's been very clear about that. The woman becomes agitated, telling him to pet the dog despite never having explained to poor Howie how to do so. She just expects him to know because she knows. She then starts to fly off the handle and and scream at Howie, escalating the scenario into a confrontation due to her own impatience and negligence. When Howie is in a defensive posture, on the dirty ground, she lurches over his body in an aggressive stance, to the point her husband has to literally pull her away from Howie. Holy shit, I've unironically gave this advice. It doesn't last 1.5 hours though, it's like a good 30/40 mins. It's great to get you started and once the addiction is there you can swap out for regular gum. No, the only way her "help" would have helped him would be if he KNEW HOW and simply was too AFRAID TO TRY. That is the problem. A lot of artists are simply afraid to try, and some advice like "just do it" works for them. You feel good for helping someone with minimal effort.
But others are quite literally missing ultra foundational, often PHYSICAL skills that severely impede their ability to do anything. They DO try, they just lack the groundwork to understand why their trying fails.

People were telling me that I hold my pen wrong (in context of school and writing) my whole life but doing it their way was simply inconvenient for me.
Now when I googled "pen grip" and looked at the photos my grip isn't different at all from it.

It's one of the two things:
A) Wrong grip is so common for people that it became the local standard
or
B) My grip has naturally improved over the years as my muscles matured.
The lack of muscle mass in my body was always huge, and so with my near-0 body fat I weighed, and still do, around 30-40% less than I should.
I think it's just that my scrawny muscles needed a different grip to work with pens for as long as needed in classes and that got me used to whatever grip I was apparently using.

Weirdly enough I also remember drawing somewhat lot at one point in my childhood, but then stopping completely for years.

What made me search up that huberman podcast was watching a documentary on a mangaka and seeing that they usually smoked then I thought about doctors and nurses how they work long hours and usually smoke as well. I don't want the negative benefits of smoking (smelling like cigs, cancer etc.) Huberman said the best form of ingesting nicotine was the gum there's nothing going in your lungs and you do not directly have the carcinogens that leads to cancer like tobacco does. Also smoking a pipe while trying to draw especially if I'm at work is a bit much.

I took it specifically for consistency and it did work. I have missed a few days here and there because for me the taste was enough of a aversion to procrastinate. My real problem was the caffeine, I was majorly depressed and the only way to get things done was to down an energy drink so my body thinks it's the solution every time I'm tired (I take sips rarely go past 1 a day) but if I'm over caffeinated I want to do EVERYTHING which leads to me hopping from thing to thing.
