This thread again... If you care about numbers on your social that's cool. I'm not here to judge what gets you excited about art, but it's a skill like anything else. if you're studying art in a way that doesn't get you results you analyze what you're doing wrong and come up with a new plan. If your socials are dead you need to figure out what you're doing wrong, it doesn't help to get bitter, that's a child's mentality.

Not to hate on it of course, I actually like it too, but it's clearly appealing to people's sexual desires, which was a complaint of OP's pic.

That said, good OC's, smutty or otherwise, break through the crowd, so the dude in OP's image is still a bitch. I saw his art, it was amateurish and unappealing - and unfortunately for him, there is a lot of great competition out there, and he simply couldn't compete.

Amazing video but it sucks the ending to it and in real life ended tragically. The artist probably knew there wasn't going to be a happy ending once he released this hence why reimu remained frozen and will for all of eternity. The VA for Reimu came back as a vtuber for a bit before later retiring completely last year

I don't know if that post still exists so I can't confirm but I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of that engagement may not be for the reasons he thinks/wants lol. Tough he seems to be too autistic to notice people dunking on his art, considering that the guy lacks the self awareness to realize his art just doesn't have the same appeal as swimsuit Miku.

I guess that would be a good thing to keep in mind whenever you get anxious about whether "just drawing" will curse you to remain a Chris-chan tier beg for life. If you're not as severely autistic as this guy or a schitzo, ie possess enough self awareness to tell why this guys art doesn't reach Sakimichi-chans numbers then you're already past the first hurdle.

My higher effort fanart gets very little engagement, but the low effort memes I draw seem to blow up in comparison.
It does really bother me, though. I get pretty happy whenever I get a like on my work, even if it's only a small handful.
