i've always wanted to learn to draw digital portraits like someone like wangjie li, but i can't find any resources for imitating a charcoal/pencil style in detail. portrait/head drawing books are traditional focused, and most digital painting courses are just that: painting

are there any resources that help teach brush choice and control for achieving a convincing analog look?

Texture brush, and put a charcoal texture on a new layer and set it to 'soft light'

it's just textured brush + good stroke economy and other fundamentals. There's nothing specific you have to learn
