Why is it so ugly and unsettling? You shouldn't be able to see both of her tits from this angle, right?

I am more worried working with Americans for any comic related work in July 2025.

No one younger than 59 years old buy Comic books in North America.

Meaning there's no guaranteed living wage with this regardless of skill.

I think it might be a number of factors. Namely the facial expression betrays the pose. She has a shocked expression, but she's in a heroic pose. Her fist is even clenched, it should be more open. She also has way too much hair. It loos like she pulled her hair out of a shower drain.

Everything in that image is wrong, the pose is shitty, the tangled hair looks like a jellyfish, the expression is horrible, I don't know what the person who drew that was thinking.

Inflated upper torso, artificial "posed" demeanor. Relatedly, read this article contrasting Frazetta with Boris Vallejo (try to get past the author's profile pic):
https://www.sequentialartistsworkshop.org/blog/2015/09/3388
The gist of it is that Frazetta's paintings feel alive and convey movement and danger, whereas Boris's paintings look like what they are: costumed bodybuilders posing. This cover is like the comic book version of a Boris painting, but less skillfully executed.

Yeah there's just something uncanny valley about this image, but i can't put my finger on exactly which part stands out as weird looking.

Reading the comments it's disgusting how many people are trying to claim Vallejo is actually better than Frazetta. Soulless retards, every one of them.

I unironically draw better than this. The hair tangle and facial expression in OP's image are a complete mess.

The pose? Nothing really. Style's not to my liking but on a purely technical level it's fine.

Looks westerner and okay. Way better than chasing something you will never be.
