How do you make up a distinct but non-cringe name that you wouldn't want to change in a week?

I've been anonymous all the way. What's the play for a long term identity?
>real-sounding first name + last name, allows for changing alias/nickname later
>random digits and letters for username, first name tied to my real identity as display name
>???

A pun + your first name, a portmanteau, an old nickname, initials + a pun or an object, an abbreviation of your name in type, mash of things you like based on themes or existing media, something weird or funny that people will instantly recognize. I've kind of given up personally building a brand for now and just went with the url of my fandom specific account but i do have one in the back that just has a nice ring to it. Brainstorm some names on paper and feel how it looks and sounds, is it short and/or rolls off the tongue etc. practice signing your work with it, make a sona/mascot based on the name, or come up with a fun logo. you kind of have to let it sit with you a bit before you put it out there or you'll get those regrets when you've already started using it.

I like more real sounding names, nothing too jibberish. Something easy to pronounce that people won't misinterpret

Adding to this: I think in any case you should just own it once you have something. Some content creators today either just have their full names as their brand or cringe gamer tags they used when they were kids and started uploading content and just stuck with it for recognition. You ought to not change it too often or if you do it's more of a shorthand or something. The youtube channel XboxAhoy became just Ahoy, for example.

I used a program to pick random syllables from a pool that I defined, until I got what sounded like an okay-ish name, that also had zero results in Google.

Avoid word/name+random numbers, a lot of Japanese artists do that shit and I can never bother to check their gallery again because it's a pain in the ass to memorize.

You will never be japanese. I have a friend from Taiwan, been in Japan for 30 years, married a Japanese woman, still feel he is an outsider, speak japanese fluently, sleep with japanese, and still you will never be a Japanese. Such is life.

That's a good thing. We don't want gaijin subversion in Japan. Being honorary Japanese is enough.
