If you had taken notes, you could have written an interesting book, or at least an interesting blog post.

I recently picked up trad after being digital for years. Not as bad as I thought. I quickly picked up on my flaws digital crutches would negate and it builds confidence. Fun is key here.

Fun is a crutch.

people underestimate how hard digital is. Imaigne if you wanted to draw trad and someone brought out one million different pencils and told you to pick one. And then when you find one that looks somewhat normal, he hands you a laminated paper covered in grease and says have fun.

Easy answer: stop using screen tablets and small or still-undersized "medium" tablets. Drawing is so much easier when you have the right tools for the job.

>buy a big tablet
>you only end up drawing in one spot anyway

yeah no, if some late zoomzoom can draw on a smartphone you don't need a big tablet

This kind of response is why I'm going to have to educate you nerds on what the purpose of a large tablet is. The fact beginners don't understand the importance of their physical range of motion to this day is ridiculous when these tools have been available for decades. It should be common knowledge that unless you're "stippling" or doing some other weirdly specific process, you don't chicken scratch your lines and don't want to be forced into the position where you have to.

The comparison isn't even equivalent, but for one thing: why would you limit yourself to a 6 inch screen on a phone? Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's remotely desirable. If you're that tight-fisted about your money because you value door dash more than you value ostensibly permanent improvements to your drawing experience that's just poor judgment
