> for context, i keep seeing posts online that are made by beginner artists, or artists with artstyles or quality i personally dont like, or even posts that are debatably objectively bad, getting a lot of positive comments, exposure, etc.

why is it like this??? the inequality is actually insane. when i was a young artist, i also wanted some fucking support, and yet my parents were always pushing me down and never supporting my dreams of hobbies. its so stupid. these people should be getting the attention they are getting. why dont i have any?

im not even the best at art, personally i wouldnt even say im good at art. im just decent, and ive been going at this shit for almost a fucking decade. im still not getting support for anything i fucking do, its driving me mad. im not happy with myself so i want people to see my work and tell me it looks great, but theres fucking none of it!!!! wtf

i feel like im being a child right now, but this is something thats been pissing me off for a while now.

The culture has changed. Everyone celebrates mediocrity just as a way to virtue signal. Nobody is being genuine. Stop sucking if you want genuine support.

I'll be honest: Your work is still amateurish but it's not bad and it has some appeal. Do you only work trad? Nothing wrong with that (so do I) but the masses want to see color, so you should try inking your illustrations and applying some watercolor to make them more eye-catching. Also, you have to ask yourself why someone would care about what you've drawn. My guess is a lot of those beginners getting encouragement are drawing fanart or whatever, and the audience is responding more to the characters they like than to the art itself. Are these your original characters? Maybe have them doing something interesting. Let your illustration tell a story that the audience can relate to in some way.

I'm sorry, it sucks, but the truth is most of us are just doing our thing in our corner of the internet as complete obscures. Maybe some guy who is a beg but get attention knows how to socialize online and get people excited. Maybe they're tapping into some FoTM in a way that's hard to define. Probably they just won the internet lottery and it feels like begs everywhere are getting attention when it's really .001% of all the shitty online artists. Have you tried using smaller sites where it might be easier to get a small friend group that follows each other. I dont know what Newgrounds and Deviantart are like these days. Don't be afraid to be the guy reaching out first, see a guy you think is on your level and also not getting the attention he deserves do a follow for a follow.

For what is worth I like your art and how you're giving each of them a different cultural style. You shouldn't give up just because people don't see the full potential that you do yet.

Also, fuck your parents. When you make it one day and they pretend they supported you all along give 'em an extra fuck you for me .
