Quick question, Do any of you also feel that fear of sharing your OCs online because you're scared someone might steal them?
I know my designs or art style might not even be that good, maybe nobody would even want to steal them... but that fear still lingers.
Anyone else get that feeling too?

I don't care about people "stealing" my OC's as long as I can keep using that OC for my stuff. If anything I'm more worried that somebody is gonna come up with something similar then people calling me a plagiarist from not having earlier proof online that my idea was original. This is why I post everything I come up with to multiple sites so I have proof later down the line.

aren't there like various artists that aggressively take down reposts of their art and get into fights about their stolen designs. wasn't that an element of the rossdraws drama some dude felt like his character was being copied, among other things.

Not really, i dont feel like my ocs that i share obnline would be something others would feel worth stealing for, they arent that specially creative.

You kind of have to believe that you are the best person to tell the story you created your character for, but in general if you actually have a million dollar ideas, and capable of executing it, you really don't have to worry about someone trying to steal it, but if you are not, then no body would really bother to either.

As the other anons commented no one really cares about that except for people that really aren't making oc's for actual serious histories and shit but instead for the purpose of social media interaction. Because if you create a character on a storor media and someone take the same name the same elements and shit you are protected in most of the contries but you have to take legal actions, so yeah, as you can see is adult serious professional stuff.
That's why only attentionals and faggots care about that because if you are a pro and you are thinking on stealing some random oc.... you just make a better version and done, is a new character now not yours, and since they are hundreds of archetypes, tropes, stereotypes, etc., is much easier.

If it makes you feel better OP, if that's your drawing, you aren't doing anything special that would make an artist stop and go, whoa, wait a second, I need to steal this design. Matter of fact, it's so generic, it's far more likely you'll delude yourself into believing someone stole the 'design' because pretty girl with short dress and belts around waist is babby's first OC levels of ideation

no, I really don't care. but I also don't think that someone can replicate the feel of my characters. If someone is able to make my character better than me, then I will consider it a bad sign.

I do get worried about sharing ideas for projects, even silly half hearted ideas, because they could flourish into much more compelling ideas with further ruminating.
So I kind of get you, but there's no point in having oc's if you're not doing anything with them - so either post them or forget about them.
Likewise, I need to actually follow up on my ideas and work on them, or I might as well forget about them as well.
