They will sue each other into the ground even if they know they'll lose just to play a game of legal chicken and force a settlement, which they almost always take because the people on the boards of directors oftentimes have their fingers in MULTIPLE pies and so don't want the legal needle to move at all.
TSR was famous for suing random competitors within the RPG field, and the ones that ACTUALLY went to completion they lost. People with law degrees have looked back on the cases and they were almost always ridiculous claims that just ended up fucking over people because of the fees to defend themselves. Shit's broken as fuck.
But again I have no idea how the nuances of IP law work in Japan. China I assume is just whoever sucks CCP dick the hardest, but if Capcom tried to sue for this it I am pretty sure it would not be handled by Chinese courts.
