Many artists also just copy and trace photographs for their paintings, so them copying AI is hardly all that surprising.
If anything, it's to their detriment, because AI art is always bland, it's prosaic, too obvious in it's approach. If a painter is going to base his work on some bland ai slop, then their work is going to quickly become boring.

If people want to have a computer make all the decision making for them, then so be it. It's their life. That's not what I want for myself or my journey. It's like being content with playing the tutorial level for the rest of your life. Some people are perfectly okay with that, for me it's just boring because I like a challenge

they have been appearing a lot more recently. It's pretty easy to tell they gen their own aie and trace/photoshop it. Especially if it's newly made and already has a blue check.
