The few /ic/ artists that we have proof that made it as a pro never came back to teach us like the Tonari Animation's key animators, a few NSFW artists like Sakimichan, Cutesexyrobutts and concept artists that make bank in AAA vidya.
We have screenshots to prove that they're wasting their time here years ago but that's in the 2010s and they're too busy making money.
After a while you graduate from this hellhole.

If it wasn't /beg/, then it would be the same with any other general. All communities naturally seek for a common room to meet and hang out.
/beg/ is the logical option since it's a place where everyone can feel a beg entitled to make mistakes and laugh about it. Even pros can be begs in certain areas, so everyone feels comfortable in a beg environment.

This has been a feeling in the back of my head lately.
I care about about helping push back against all the artistic blackpills but I have my own shit to do.

I'm not really sure how to really help en masse beyond that. Too many artists are blackpilled to fuck about all kinds of things and spread this mind virus to others, and this is one of the few places where I can actively talk to people and say things that drill into the parasitic ideas without them being able to block/ban me for going against whatever the local narrative of collective struggle is.

He's not wrong. There are very very few artists who actually make good art. Even less who do so publicly.

And it is largely a personal problem. Of any skill you can learn, art is just about the least dependent on material circumstances. How good you are has a lot to do with how much time and effort you're able to dedicate to drawing. If you're weak willed and working a 60 hour job, good luck bub, chances are slim to none.

while you're in the progress of trying to make it big, this place (and 4chan in general) is pretty good at being helpful and supportive, it's why a ton of nice artists and game developers have wiggled out of 4chan over the years
once you actually make it on the other hand, schizophrenic crabbuckets can no longer project themselves onto you as a reflection of what they could be as you're no longer in the process of crawling out of the hole and you become an enemy of the "tribe" in their eyes

at least that's what I tell myself, everyone I know who has made some sort of long leap of progress in either just tells me that the site sucks these days.
