If the line between the brows is straight, then in the drawing the line between the nostrils is a positive slope, this means one nostril is above the other
There is also room to establish the other eyebrow but it will be quite small, the face is already registering as is
His facial proportions on the body drawing are different from the rest, with a longer convex muzzle and shorter space for horns/frills compared to the rest. The horns also have 6 segments compared to 8 on rightmost drawings and 9 in middle drawing
I register a lack of the intermediary section between the arms/deltoids and the chest, where you will see the armpits/latissimus dorsi/serratus anterior, the beginnings of the pectoralis,, and the triangle kind of area created by the collar bone that lies between the chest and humerus which can be studied for later use if you havent already

if you find it too overwhelming, simplify it by turning it into a greyscale image

I feel like I improve more when I don't post here and that I was happier drawing before I came to this general.

i feel like what you're missing out on is the actual thought process behind the color choices being made here: you're not using color as a component in your composition, you're not varying your hues, you're not creating much visual interest that isn't already established by values alone. i'm also a little confused about you claiming to reference him for composition because the composition you've created here is pretty weak and doesn't resemble his work very much, at least not what i've seen of it
i would honestly suggest just watching a few youtube videos about color theory in painting and then returning to do studies after that. videos and classes are good for getting into the mindset so you understand why an artist is making the decisions that they're making instead of trying to copy the end result. studying isn't just about replicating what you see, it's about understanding the concepts being used so you can apply them to your own work. you need to train your skills of observation and understanding just as much as you need to train the techniques.

i'm also not sure about what this pose is. if her right leg is lunging backwards while she twists her upper body to the left and down, there should be more movement and bunching of fat and skin around her stomach.
the connection between the upper body and the lower body seems disjointed because her hips and pelvis are at a different angle from the rest of her body. her hips appear more like reference 1 even though she's at more of a gentle, front-facing lunge with crossed legs like a combination of 2 and 3.

tried doing a quick getting down on paper of character designs for the main characters of the vn I'm working on
green is the protagonist, he's mostly based on moto hagio characters in his general design
red is the third love interest, his design I'm sort of basing on the seemingly lead vampire from the lost boys which is a movie from the 80s, as well as just generally sexy gruff guy vibes. maybe a bit of viewlard from five star stories
gold is the second route love interest, his design I'm mostly referencing Blondie from ai no kusabi and russ Lundberg from brainpowerd. still not set on having a bandana or not
blue is the first love interest route and based on fei from xenogears and maybe a bit of dr ballanche from fss
grey is the last love interest and based a bit on guile from street fighter but with sideburns and older.
again these were just quick getting the ideas out so I could see them
still need to practice a lot to get better at drawing and refining the characters and their wardrobes, but I feel good that there's at least a general direction for them now and I can get a better feel for them
would making reference sheets for each character help do you friends think?

I'm using this one because it's similar in that it's a low-keyed painting with a quasi symmetrical composition
I say that the biggest weakness in yours is that it's not clear if the focal point should be the moon or the character
if it's the character, it should have been made front and center of the image; if it's the moon, its impact is being lessened by the figure.
I also chose this one because it also features 2 main elements, but it's clear in hierarchy which is the main one and which is the subordinate one.

For legs, an easy trick is to imagine an overall x shape. Unless there's some weird perspective, try to locate the knee and ankle, and draw 2 lines from ball to ball while crossing them once (like an x. For example, if you take the right side of the knee ball, draw a curve that joins the left side of the ankle ball).

How do you find more references for knights and firearms? Osprey's book have helped with the former but I want more, I figure studying history helps look for more of these at least.

some things i have noticed is that man made structures are rigid and very geometric (think about computers, tables even the four corners of your room)
i notice a lot of these are also perfectly symmetrical
so for organic shapes, the form is probably more loose and flowy so while it may look intimidating at first
while these shapes are not symmetrical, they are still balanced
if you take from one side, you must add the weight back somewhere else to keep the balance

my eyesight has seriously deteriorated over the last couple of years due to astigmatism and advancing myopia. itโs gotten to the point that even with correction large words 30 or so feet from me start blurring at the edges. is it possible to abstract to a certain point the details of an object or room? i canโt even reference anything in darkness because my eyes can no longer adjust to the dark, even if itโs on a screen or in an image.
