this is my most recent WIP. am pixel art map maker who works with a 3DCG artist to bring starships to life.

What do you think? i've started incorporating dual color palettes for ships: a low-power industrial set for hot, dark interiors, and a brighter color palette for more livable areas.

This is very basic. It looks like a video game map, not something people would actually use regardless of the realism level of the universe.

Go look at Hans Jenssen and John R Mullaney's work. Every bit of a starship has purpose. Every bump in the wall hides an important bit of machinery. Every panel in the floor hides some valves that need to be turned. This is just barely thought out conference rooms in space. You don't hand-draw maps if all you're going to get out of them is generic ass copy pasted dungeon tilesets.
