I like how Oda draws big characters, the small head and short skinny legs somehow works to make a character feel large.
But how does the neck work? At this size wouldn't it he impossible to turn your head?
I know its just a stylization but I want to hear your opinions on it.

I think it's less that he has a massive neck, and rather his trapezoid muscles are apparently coming out from directly behind his head.
That said his sterno mastoids look overly thick too, reaching halfway along his pec.

Anyway, I'm analysing the anatomy of a overly stylised cartoon, there's no point to doing so. He can turn his head if his author draws him doing so, that's all that matters.

heh i've been noticing i've been drawing really buff character with oda necks, i've been trying to scale down on how much i merge the neck and the trapazoids since i don't want the neck to disappear entirely like in pic rel
