That disable comments on their platforms?
Is it good? bad? Something in between?

Ive heard of people that get assmad when someone disables comments on their youtube video. Those people automatically hit dislike even if they liked the video it seems.
So i was wondering how was it in the art world.

(In my case i do keep them turned off lol. I just want to post online just to have my work out there. Im not interested in building a community or anything like that. It has helped me to avoid focusing on likes or virality and pay attention to the work only)

I don't really think that much about them.

Most of the time I've seen artists disable comments is when Asian artists are wrapped up in some drama about a character they drew or how they drew them. I do respect the few artists who have kept them disabled the whole time and have somehow gained a following purely through their art though.

I understand why they do it. I don't want retarded consoomers calling @grok under my post.

I get it. I don't, but I get it. I don't know if it affects much either way.
Sure, I'm sure people take offense at them being turned off, but I'm sure they take offense anyway when they leave some insipid "hey this reminds me of some other artist" or "@grok generate me a pic in this style that's sucking my toes" comments and you just ignore them. Realistically what comment could anyone leave on art that's actually worth reading. Or in general. Social media is worthless like that.

It's social media, it's not an art platform, if you're uploading just do it on your own terms, trying to game numbers is playing to win in a game with no prizes.
