I see this deal on humblebundle for the CorelDraw suite program for $70. Tried doing some research but it's so unclear what it's for. All i see is people saying "vector" this "graphic design" that, and I don't even know what a graphic designer is, or if i am one, all i know is that i like sketching, drawing, and want to go into coloring and stuff all with my drawing tablet.
I don't think this is for me, but i figure i would ask for a brief explanation would be helpful to know if this is a worthwhile purchase for me. As far as i know, graphic designers are the ones making super simplified shitty logos like the Pepsi ball or something? I hear they make more money than an actual artist which is strange considering it seems like FAR FAR FAR less work and effort, but yeah. anyone have any insight?

Sheep mentality, slave mindset.
Choose freedom, choose Krita.
Also /software/, not art, go to /g/

no. i've heard and seen that krita is unbelievably massive with its learning curve and very much not user-friendly.

I'm a professional graphic designer, you don't want CorelDRAW. I used it at work for a few years in the print media industry. It's so clunky lol, especially compared to something like Adobe Illustrator.

Graphic Design is generally stuff like making magazines, packaging, advertisements, logos, even websites sometimes. In terms of money comparatively, it usually makes a lot more and is a lot less stressful (in a corporate environment), especially as you go up the chain. Illustrators are usually hired for stuff like concept art, animation, or other things that need to look hand drawn. Most Graphic Designers have a background in illustration in some form or another. I do GD professionally, and draw/paint as a hobby.

If you want to draw, sketch, and color, you do Illustration. Generally you don't want a Vector (scalable line math) program for that, you want a Raster (pixels) program.

Krita, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and prolly a few others are fine.

CorelDRAW is a graphic design software, but it's not suitable for drawing; it's more geared toward printing.
I used it to create flyers, cards, invoices, etc.

CorelDRAW sucks. Corel Painter is what an artist would want, but they haven't updated it since 2023 so.

This seems to be a oddly common problem with art programs.
Illustrators probably don't want to use Adobe Illustrator, but photoshop.
What's the Affinity drawing program, Designer or Photo?
Why are you drawing in Corel Draw? You Should have bee using Corel Painter.

Can these point dexter dipshits just name their program well?

The problem isn't the software, it's the idiots who don't know what they're using. Photoshop isn't a drawing software, it's for photo editing, Illustrator is for vectorizing logos and images, and CorelDRAW is for printing.

If you want to use drawing software, the options are Krita, Clip Studio, SAI, etc.
