I'm a big fan of the way anime looked in the 2000s, like death note and code geass. how do I get my art to look more like that? this is my most recent attempt.

Take screenshots of the show you want to emulate, grab settei, trace over them, make notes about what makes up the style and apply it to your own work. Cute art btw

The same way you emulate any art style. You break it down, note the proportions, how many eyes tall/wide the head is, the space between the eyes and the side of the face, how many heads tall the figures are, etc. And then you copy them over and over. Overlay the original version on your copy and write down the differences, adjust them, and if you're really up to it try drawing it again.
