I know you posted that screenshot because: >The bear said ‹retard› XD trololo >funnie English pejorative is in French sentence
But doesn't retard in French mean slow/delayed, and they instead call the mentally retarded attardés?

- Le mot « retard » n'a pas la même signification qu'en anglais
- The word "retard" doesn't have the same in English
- La palabra "retard" no tiene el mismo signficado que en ingles
I almost feel like anybody pretending to be learning french on the internet is like a reverse psychology troll meant to make you angry, because why the fuck would you do that

you need to speak french for government jobs here because your people are a bunch of man-children who sperg out if someone doesn't speak french.

best western european language, second most spoken european language (not counting spanish spoken by spics) and also a great literary tradition and good for seeking employment

T'es en retard / you are late
T'as un retard / you are a retard
Notice it's the same thing basically if you check. Words like "late", I don't know if it's said in English, but I think everyone understands if we say "he is mentally late"

Easier*
It's not an easy language to learn, but it's one of the easier ones than pretty much every other language that isn't Dutch, Spanish or the Nordic languages.

You only find French more interesting than Spanish because Spanish is more prevalent. If we had the same amount of Haitians and French speaking Africans as we do Hispanics then you'd lose respect for the French language too.

it's just dumb how some sentences need a word in front of the noun or whatever when it's not said at all and some sentences don't need them.

every language has arbitrary discrepancies like that. Even English. You just don't think that they don't make sense because you're used to it. Just like walking or going up stairs: you don't think of each individual muscle you're contracting or which nerve is conducting the signal; you're just moving. It's natural.

It only seems dumb to you because you don't know the language yet. It's frustrating I know, but you just gotta accept it and keep learning. It'll make sense the more you read and see it used in sentences.

..especially if you translate them word by word to English or whatever is your native tongue. Literal deviations is what makes each language hard to learn anyways.
