my liberal media outlets keep telling me that this country is turning into an authoritarian oppressive mafia-controlled semi-communist state because...judges were elected by the people rather than by politicians???

is it true?

yes and because mexico is becoming a communist, non-usa aligned socialist shithole cartels are taxed and are reducing because of it

judia's strategy of just jewing narcos instead of killing them is working flawlessly because narcos are too busy killing each other to declare war on the government again and kill military officers again, and even if they did half of them would turn for the state for reduced taxes. In this way, the jews win.

>Same-sex sexual acts are legal in Mexico, but LGBT people have been prosecuted through the use of legal codes that regulate obscene or lurid behavior (atentados a la moral y las buenas costumbres). Over the past twenty years, there have been reports of violence against gay men, including the murders of openly gay men in Mexico City and of transgender people in the southern state of Chiapas. Local activists believe that these cases often remain unsolved, blaming the police for a lack of interest in investigating them and for assuming that gays are somehow responsible for attacks against them.[19]

did this democracy benefit you, though? was life in Mexico better in let's say 2010 than it was in 1980 (disregarding technological progress over this time ofc). I mean, the example of China proves democracy itself doesn't have to be a goal but rather a tool to achieve high living standards - in some countries this tool works, but some countries apparently need different instruments, adjusted to their culture and lifestyle
somehow i always had a feeling Latin American countries work fairly well under authoritarian regimes. Think of Chile under Pinochet, Brazil under Vargas, Argentina under Peron, El Salvador under Bukele...

Because they were idiots and want things for free. And yes MORENA did want to influece the election results and so did many other interests. I am not happy with how the election was carried out. electing judges is dumb. the average person including me doesn't know enough about law to evaluate the competency of each candidate, does not have access to the judicial history/rulings of each candidate or whether they were fair on each case cause then you'd have to read the details of the case (filled with judicial jargon that 99% of the population doesn't understand) which no one has the time to do for a gazillion candidates.
essentially people will just vote for whoever can advertise themselves, or goes viral on tiktok or whether they partisan judges ruling in favor of things they like or don't like (and these last two will just lead to american style culture wars brain rot)

That'll never happen. Unfortunately and realistically, that would create such a turmoil that by the time the cartels would be finally gone for good the population would be so exhausted by the violence that the idea of ascending into firstiedom is very far fetched

Mexico has many parties, is not like the US that have just 2 parties. But we have real nigga parties like Morena, PRI and PAN and MV that have (or had) actual weight and power to them , and fake nigga parties, very small but still kind of there like PVEM.
Morena has opened its doors to many politicians from PRI, PRD and to some extent PAN, it is also allied with fake parties like PVEM (Green Ecologic Party of Mexico, coloquailly known as the party of the 4 lies) that is a parasitic entitity with no principle that simply allies it itself with whathever real party is currently in power. That was PVEM gets some votes, gets a budget and the ruling real party gets some few extra votes in congress and doesnt look like as hegemonic because is technically a seperate party and they "share".

The truth is way darker than that I remember back in 2009 or so it was discovered that some of the reigning cartels of that era literally hold entire villages of natives as plantation grounds and the locals did not complain since they were getting paid better, and they even turned into whistle blowers for said criminals whom they considered their 'boss' and their criminal activities their 'jobs' in the most normalize kind of way. The local state authorities where all in the drugdealers payroll of course and when the rival cartels targeted some of the villages killing a lot of said stupid but kind of 'innocent' natives inside a church it all got swept under the rug and none of the 'authorities' did anything about it.
It is very probable that cartels use similar underhanded tactics in the current year of our lord 2025

Thats is not what I said at all. I see how you are trying to deflect after your ignorance has been exposed.
If you had actually read, and actually "know several candidates have connections with organized crime and a history of corruption" then you would know some name you read would have stuck with you and you would have given names or identifiable characteristics by now.

Its absolutely true
God help us all this country has been going into hell for ever since it became independent
>judges were elected by the people
Said people are utterly retaded and have no concept of what makes a judge right
More important ever single candidate proposed has some alignment to criminal organizations or secretive cults
Theyre all disgusting people who should not be trusted with power

>Are the candidates corrupt and known to have connections with organized crime?
Like I said before, the judges that were already in their place had the right to be in the ballot to have the opportunity to stay in their place. By default yes.
While I was reading profiles before the election a certain lawyer candidate stood out to me, but I see no information that say she actually won.

do chinese have an influence over your cartels? How long do these cartels plan on making money using cheap drugs? I mean the usage of narcotics has been going down year after year as more people are lookspilled, performancepilled, moneypilled & statuspilled who don't want their lives to be ruined by dirt cheap drugs.

> authoritarian

All capitalists countries (and Mexico is one of them) are authoritarian by nature. You need to work for a boss 8 hours + a day, without any decision in the production, unless you want to starve. In this respect, Mexico is no different from Poland or any other european country.

> oppressive

See above. Whats more opressive than literally having to sell your labour force for some capitalist?

> mafia-controlled

The power exercised by criminals is really overblown by the mass media. In some backwater towns it could be that they might sway public opinion/behaviour, but in the vast majority of the country the military/police is who is really in control and that military - police apparatus is owned by the richest, wealthiest capitalists.

> semi-communist state because...

I dont see private property being abolished.

> judges were elected by the people rather than by politicians???

Pure electoral fetish. Justice can never become a reality in a system where 1% owns 90% of the wealth.

Currently fentanyl is still a major drug influx but even if it wasnt it would be irrelevant
Cartels at this point are no longer just drug sellers
They have monopolized the entire black market
Every illegal product in Mexico is in someway produced by them
They have gun deals to radical groups in the middle east
They extort morgues to sell them organs so they can trade them internationally
They charge exorbitant amounts of money to desperate immigrants in the promise of getting them across the border
They force local businesses to pay them tribute
They kidnap women from the rest of latin america and sell them as sexual slaves
They do the same with children
Everything that you can imagine
This country is a paradise for the depraved
Do not come here under any circumstance
Save yourself
