I'm very disconcerned by photographs of stellar objects. Last month I was drinking coffee and watching a video on astrobiology on my big tv and it suddenly displayed the planets of the solar system and I got so jumpscared I spilled coffee all over myself. It's been like this since I was like 6 years old. I love space but I have to browse articles peeking through my fingers so I'm not freaked out

It's not. We are 99.99 sure what the core is, we will never 100% know. We figured this out... Years ago. Sigh. No one even cares. I'm sure if the Chinese or Indians found out what we did you'd guys be ranting about it.

I don't even know why we explore anymore. What's the point of spending billions on space missions. Seriously. You all don't even know we are or will give us credit.

Why the fuck not on the moon???
Its our closest big celestial object in the solar system and weโ€™ve literally been there. The only fucking downside is the fact thereโ€™s no air in there and the gravity is lower.
Mars and Venus are both fucking death sentences and require technology incomprehensible to us and a minimum of a millinnium of effort to terraform into a somewhat habitable atmosphere for us.
Moon has our magnetic mantle protecting it from the suns radiation, we can literally create massive lunar bases within decades but nobody for some fucking reason puts any thought on that.

The moon is among the most metal rich objects in the solar system so minerals arenโ€™t even an issue.

It actually is. There's no 100% evidence that Mars ever had life. It could have. We do have 100% clear evidence Mars had running liquid water and rivers over 2 billion years ago, but we haven't found yet any direct evidence that life ever emerged there, at least not yet. We found some funny rocks with interesting patters but they were dismissed as natural patters of what happens when liquid water runs over rocks for a period of time, that's about it.

Yes a martian meteorite with patters similar to those left by bacteria was found, but those were incredibly small as well (50x smaller than the smallest bacterias here on Earth) and it was then found out those patters could also be produced by other natural processes. Plus the robots we have literally sent there eventually haven't found anything that proves life existed there. Yeah it might have, but we don't have any direct proof. But you could have rotated your camera and have the rings horizontal, how do you not get it ? I must be shit at explaining it so I try again, you don't have to have Saturn on top of you to look at it, I understand it's impossible to have it horizontal if you're standing up when in Spain but not if you're lying on the ground (with your sublime gf), you just have to rotate yourself.
