tfw can't get german citizenship because my great grandfather didn't divorced in Germany before moving here and the others came way before making it very difficulty to trace down their documents.

I have polish ancestry but can't get citizenship because they moved to Brazil before World War 1. I believe the only ones that can get citizenship are the ones that had an ancestor living in Poland after 1920.

Germans have a shit ton of laws for citizenship by ancestry, its almost like they don't want people to get it (it's definitely what they want).
In this particular scenario, men need to be married to pass citizenship forwards (i think that was the case, it's been a few years since i spoke with a company about it)
