They have some of the worst female rights of the first world which is why they have such a strong feminist movement, because it's the opposite of a feminist country.
>>211725518 (OP)it had the most extreme "financial miracle" (decades of 16 hour work days paid in pennies, especially for women who were promised a bunch of shit they never got in return for their sacrifice) in Asia. Technically China's is bigger, but theirs didn't kick in properly until the 80s so the generational squeeze is just on the horizon for them. The environment capitalism breeds is no longer conducive to child rearing. People are pessimistic about the future, they're stressed, overworked, underpaid, buying houses has become a pipe dream in a good chunk of the first world, renting is starting to seem ever more fantastical and the work hours keep going up even though more and more jobs are disappearing. All this while food, air and water quality gets worse and the only people that seem to be doing better year by year are the richest ones running the companies that cause all of this.
I wouldn't mind having kids, but I gotta say my government, my employer, the news stations, most people on the internet and the world at large seems to be hell bent on making that seem as bad an idea as they possibly can. It is disincentivized on all fronts. I'll still do it, despite the suffering they're in for, because it's faustian o algo, but the world has become a miserable place and even if women were to blame for flagging birthrates I wouldn't blame them, who in their right mind would want to subject their loved ones to this?
