Reminds me of a recent encounter at my local coffeeshop
I had a conversation with a nerdy girl who listened to Prussian march music on her headphones that I could hear through them, I commented on it when she took them off and we had a nice conversation on music tastes
Then when she was getting ready to leave, she looked at me expectantly and I just told her bye so she walked away

I watch lots of K-Drama and yeah, the sloppa they prepare at home is rather repulsive for Westerners’ taste. It has little in common with glamorized Korean restaurant food. Think intestine stews, pig ears, seaweed soups and, of course, tonnes of kimchi.

The warmth of this picture is turned all the way up and these are all dishes most palatable to westerners, we usually have jajangmyeon or naengmyeon. Jajangmyeon can be fine but cold noodles are fucking weird. They eat it in the summer to cool off. Just DRINK something nigga god damn don’t put your noodles in ice what the fuck

Never had pig ears but yeah she’s always eating tripe and she puts kimchi in everything, it’s not even a meal it’s basically just a topping at this point. That being said as far as cabbage goes kimchi isn’t bad, I just hate cabbage, and as a German I’m sure that offends you

It’s what confuses Westerners about Asian food: rice or kimchi often isn’t the “side dish to something else” like it’s for us, it IS the food and the rest of the plate are just sauces for it.

> I just hate cabbage, and as a German I’m sure that offends you
Not really, it’s just survival food historically. I doubt the peasants who subsisted on it always loved it.

From what I've seen the main food is a bowl of white rice that you refill a few times from the pot, and you take little bits of meat and vegetables with it from an array of small bowls. But the plain rice itself comprises like 75% of the meal

I know this and I would never ever ever say this to Ummonim because she’s the sweetest lady in the world and if she ever needs a place to stay in her old age I’ve told her I’d be more than happy to have her live with us. And her cooking isn’t “bad”, like I said it’s better than restaurant Korean food, I just simply don’t like most Korean dishes

Good LORD they’re good at frying chicken though. I know that’s not traditional food but Korean fried chicken BTFOs any American chicken

I don’t think my culture is inherently superior to hers and I am north Germanic

I think Asian culture is just as advanced and arguably more refined than western culture. I’d never live there because of the social rigidity but I cannot honestly say my culture is superior

Enjoy your woman as much as possible, anon.
As long as it's not unhealthy and not genuinely disgusting, her food can't be that bad. Maybe you will get used to it.
If you are occasionally in the mood for something else you can just eat that when you are at work or away in the city.
