Learning Spanish
What, in your opinion, is the best way to learn European Spanish?

Aside from "practice everyday!" and duolingo, anything I can use effectively to minmax it in <a year?

What has been your personal experience?

Both of you are allowed but only if you do the "Spanish respect passage". You have to run with a bull like these spanish youngsters do.
Also you need to kiss the flag of the Spanish Empire.

I live near the US Mexico border so that helps me learn the language.

You 'aight white boy
To answer your question: yeah just use the language daily. I'm learning french and even when I'm browsing the internet I have the browser option enabled to translate websites into french so I'm learning or refreshing vocabulary even when wasting my time on 4chan. Start looking for videogames, shows, movies, websites in spanish or youtube channels. Videogames really are a great way to learn languages since you are usually constantly seeing the same vocabulary as you play so you end up memorizing it. Just use the language daily, that's really it

Getting lessons would be ideal, but if you have the willpower, grind verbal forms + consume spanish dubbed media/sites. Pester chatgpt or whatever AI with questions as much as needed.
If you live here go for local content and don't go for the south american stuff until you have a good grasp on the language, otherwise you will mix expressions words and accents. Most importantly, remember people in andalusia and murcia speak like absolute retards, if you learn from them normal people will think you have a speech impediment.

I studied Spanish in uni and the teachers from Spain were incredibly anal about it; what helped me was watching a lot of movies in Spanish, HOWEVER don't watch movies from Spain, they are mostly boring as shit, watch movies from like Mexico or Argentina, they are way better

Literally all spanish movies from the last 25 years are taxpayer money scams.
