Programming is done entirely in english so even if the US collapses English will still be the lingua franca of the world.

I dont get why nobody thinks or mentions this but english being the "programmer tounge" will be immensely significant for this and future generations

English is the only lingua franca that's existed.
literacy for the majority let alone those of a foreign language happened since the 20th century.
At no other point in time has a commoner that isn't a traveller, upper class or a monk could understand a foreign language.
