The ones I have actually gotten with have mostly been pretty blunt. When I was a university student, a girl who’d been complimenting me on my looks occasionally but not aggressively straight-up asked if she could come with me when I told her I was off to take a shower. I accepted enthusiastically, and we were friends with benefits on and off for about a year until she dumped me for a woman. Surprisingly, I eventually married the woman she threw me over for, although it was some years later. I think my former fwb/my wife’s former girlfriend is fat and a full-time lesbian nowadays. But she was hot when we knew her.

The ones who were more subtle about it often went completely over my head. I am pretty oblivious and not especially confident, so there were instances in my youth where I just assumed that girls who were dropping hints that were obvious in hindsight didn’t really want to fuck me.
